10 Historical Romance E-Books: Erin Grace

ITEM: A pack containing 2 historical romance ebooks by Erin Grace plus a handmade bobbin-lace bookmark, made by the author.

DETAILS:

Secrets… Everyone has secrets. Some can be ruinous. When Isabelle Barclay is left widowed at the age of twenty-five, she discovers how precarious life can be for a woman alone in the 1850s. She’s surrounded by sycophantic friends who fear her, and treacherous men determined to have her. She escapes to the wilds of the beautiful Scottish Highlands, and is rescued by an unlikely ally with her own hidden past. She didn’t expect to find a revenge plot, a treasured friendship, or a powerful attraction to a Scottish laird determined never to love. A stormy affair and a midnight duel threaten to change Isabelle’s life forever.

Serenade… Grace is plotting a course for unknown territory.

When young Grace Hathaway decides to escape from the threat of marriage to a horrible man, she takes her fate into her own hands, stowing away on the Serenade with the aim of sailing to Spain.

Captain Marcus James is haunted by a violent past he can barely remember except in the dark murky sea of his dreams. Competition with government traders has seen him take on illegal hidden goods, just to keep The Serenade and her crew afloat. The last thing he needs is undue attention from the wrong quarters, and the last thing he expects to find is Grace.

Facing stormy seas, bloody battles with pirates and a sizzling romance, will Grace and Marcus find a port of call?

CV: Escaping from her ‘real world’ of sales and marketing, Erin immerses herself in unfolding tales of dire circumstance, brave heroines, unscrupulous villains and, of course, passionate hot-blooded men. When not writing, Erin indulges in her love of home-style food by teaching her children to cook. Erin lives with her husband and three sons in the beautiful Blue Mountains of Australia.

160 Signed copy of “Find Your Tribe” – Rebecca Sparrow

Item: A signed copy of “Find Your Tribe”
Details:

Book Information: The little black book of information that every teenage girl should read.

Everybody knows high school can be tough.  There are days when your favourite teacher tells you off. When the person you have a crush on fails to notice you even exist. When your best friend behaves more like your worst enemy. And when even the C-grade netball team thinks you’d be a dead weight and have the defending skills of a stapler. So how do you get through it? Glad you asked.  From the author of The Girl Most Likely comes Find Your Tribe (and 9 other things I wish I’d known in high school), a practical, humorous, guide for girls to help them negotiate their teen years and beyond.

Laugh along with Rebecca as she reveals a few of her own less-than-shining-high-school-moments (like the time she accidentally set fire to her fake finger nails) but know that whether it’s finding your tribe, your classroom or your confidence, this little black book will be an invaluable guide.

Brief Bio: In 1993 Rebecca graduated from QUT with a Bachelor of Business (Communication) and started writing media releases, feature articles, speeches and newsletters for a living. After three years on magazines (and a dodgy Vegas wedding under her belt), Rebecca decided to have a go at writing her first novel. The Girl Most Likely is a comedy about a former travel writer who tries to put her life back together after secretly getting married in Vegas. The novel was published by UQP in March 2003 and spent 16 consecutive weeks in the Mary Ryan’s Top 10. AFI award-winning Australian actress Pia Miranda (Looking for Alibrandi, Garage Days, Secret Life of Us) has optioned the film rights with Icon Films and hopes to turn the book into a feature film.
Rebecca’s second novel, The Year Nick McGowan Came To Stay, is the prequel to The Girl Most Likely and was released in May 2006 in Australia and April 2008 in the US. It debuted as a stage play at Brisbane’s La Boite Theatre in May 2007. Rebecca’s third novel, Joel and Cat Set The Story Straight, was published in August 2007 and co-written with her good friend Nick Earls.
When she’s not writing novels, Rebecca writes a weekly column for The Sunday Mail newspaper and she gives motivational talks and runs writing workshops in schools and businesses across the country. Rebecca is an Ambassador of War Child Australia and The Pyjama Foundation.

300 Personally signed copy of Thyla – Kate Gordon – 2 of 2

Item: One personally signed copy of Thyla, the new young adult novel by Kate Gordon, published by Random House. Not out until April, but as soon as it is out, Kate will sign copies and send it. You might even get your hands on it before anyone else!

Details:

Book Information: THYLA is a story of Tasmania: of darkness, of convicts, of devils and tigers, and of promises that stay true through the centuries. It is the story of what happened to Cat, and what Tessa really is.

“My name is Tessa. I am strong. I am brave. I do not cry. These are the only things I know for certain. I was found in the bush, ragged as a wild thing. I have no memory – not even of how I got the long, striping slashes across my back. They make me frightened of what I might remember. The policewoman, Connolly, found me a place in a boarding school and told me about her daughter, Cat, who went missing in the bush. I think there is a connection between Cat, me, and the strange things going on at this school. If I can learn Cat’s story, I might discover my own – and stop it happening again.”

Age Range: 13+

Brief CV: Kate was born and raised on the North-West Coast of Tasmania, in a town known for its tulips, and where you can get the best fish and chips in the world. She is a former children’s librarian and manager of the children’s and YA section at a major book shop. Now, she is a FTW (full time writer).
Kate trained as an actor, but wasn’t very good at it. She writes on her couch, in the early morning, with her cat, Mephistopheles “Danger” Gordon sitting behind her making funny noises at birds.
Kate spends most of her time with her nose in a book, and when she’s not reading or writing, she likes bending herself into funny positions doing yoga, watching movies, playing Scrabble and listening to music you can headbang to. Visit her blog www.kategordon.com.au

132 Signed copy of the novel Redback – Lindy Cameron – 1 of 2

Item: A signed copy of the novel Redback

Details:

Book Information: A force to be reckoned with

Tribal warlords or international warmongers; insurgents or terrorists; rebels or elected politicians; the only real differences are scale, ideology, and how close they get to the action.

While world leaders and faceless power brokers remote-control wars on a global scale, their political big-pictures translate to personal tragedy for those on the other end of the shock and awe of surgical strikes, rolling tanks and interminable detention.

And as western governments manipulate their War on Terror to stay in power, individuals the world over respond in different ways to the fear being generated; depending on whether they’re fearful of the message, or the messenger.

Being alert rather than alarmed is good advice, until people begin to wonder who they should be watching and whether they’ve been had.

Brief Bio: Lindy never grew up to be the famous scientist she’d always dreamt of being. Instead she spent time as a journalist, a traveller and a book editor before turning happily to a life of crime. She is now the author of five crime, mystery and adventure novels.

Lindy is an unashamed Xenite, Xenaphile, XWP buff – you get the drift; a Buffy, Angel, Stargate, Dr Who, Torchwood, Smallville, Battlestar Galactica fan; a Trekker; a closet warrior princess; and a philogynist, who obviously doesn’t mind being labelled. She is also a National Co-Convenor of Sisters in Crime Australia and editor of its magazine Stiletto.
