190 Children’s/Artwork: Janeen Brian

ITEM: An original piece of artwork.

DETAILS: This artwork is unframed and measure 30cmx30cm. The artwork was created by illustrator Judith Rossell for the book ‘Too Tight Benito’, written by Janeen Brian, illustrated by Judith Rossell and published by Little Hare (2008).

CV: Janeen Brian is an award-winning author of picture books, short stories, poetry, non-fiction, short fiction and novels for young people and the educational market. She grew up in Brighton, South Australia, graduated as a Primary teacher and taught for over twenty years before becoming a full-time writer. 39 Children’s Picture Book PRINTS (4 different prints): Amanda Graham

ITEM: 4 prints from the picture book The Only Me, by South Australian author Meredith Harvey and illustrator Amanda Graham. 

DETAILS: Printed on art paper; 335 x 350mm; unframed. It can be custom-signed for the winning bidder. The book from which the artwork is taken, The Only Me, featured as part of an early childhood reading initiative in South Australia. The artwork was exhibited at Adelaide’s Gallery M and elsewhere.

CV: Amanda writes and illustrates picture books and short stories for young children. Her first book, Arthur (the dog, not the aardvark),  appeared in 1984. In 1985 it won the UK Children’s Federation Award and was shortlisted for the CBC Awards.

Amanda’s first career choice was teaching. While studying for a Bachelor of Education at Sturt CAE (now Flinders University ) she began writing stories for young children. After having several books published she studied illustration at the University of SA and has since illustrated many of her own stories.

Amanda’s career has included work as a primary school teacher, waiter, barperson, out-of-school-hours care coordinator, piano player, freelance illustrator and illustration/drawing lecturer.

Her titles include Picasso, the Green Tree Frog Looks Like Lunch Educating Arthur and Smart Dad. Bushranger Bill , illustrated by Amanda and written by Megan de Kantzow.

Amanda works from her home in Mylor, which she shares with her husband Michael, her three children Joseph, Jessica and Angus, and Scrappy the dog. See also.
